CLOUD NINE (DICTIONARY DEFINITION):Informal , A state of great happiness , Used in the phrase on Cloud Nine. [Originally on Cloud Seven ; the phrase is perhaps related to "in the seventh heaven"] (in some Jewish and Muslim literature the seventh and final heaven is the abode of God.)
BRIEF INTRO
Steve Duncan started Cloud Nine Disco in 1978, named by a work colleague whilst serving a four year Electrical apprenticeship in HM Dockyard in Portsmouth. Having built up a large record collection and being a drummer in a local band , music has played a large part in the development of this disco. In 1978 the advent of Saturday Night Fever and Grease being some of the most successful musical films ever took Discotheques to a new level in the UK and now is an industry that is worth £1.5 Billion pounds per annum in the UK alone. As of JUNE 1998 , Cloud Nine is the veteran of over 1,200 discos performing as far away as the Far East , Middle East and USA to a very wide ranging audience. Steve Duncan has also presented radio programmes for local area networks as well as Hospital Radios.
